Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said on National Girl Child Day that India is proud of the achievements of girls in all fields. Modi said that his government is equally determined to ensure that there is no discrimination against girl children.

In a post on X, the Prime Minister said, “Today, on National Girl Child Day, we reiterate our commitment to empower the girl child and ensure greater opportunities for them. India is proud of the achievements of girl children in all fields. Their achievements will continue to inspire all of us,” the Prime Minister said.

Modi said his government has focused on other sectors such as education, technology, skills and health, which have contributed to empowering the girl child. National Girl Child Day is celebrated every year on January 24, dedicated to promoting the rights of girl child and their overall development. It was started by the Government of India in 2008 to spread awareness about girls in the society.
