No Compromise on Integrity of Examinations; Strict Action Against Irregularities: Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai has taken serious note of the circulation of the B.Sc. Agriculture second-year Entomology examination question paper of Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya (IGKV) on social media before the examination. He said no compromise with the integrity, transparency and credibility of examinations would be tolerated and strict action would be taken against those found guilty.

On the Chief Minister’s directions, the university has constituted a five-member inquiry committee. An FIR has been registered against an unidentified person at Telibandha Police Station, while the Cyber Cell has been roped in to trace the source and chain of circulation of the question paper.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said the State Government follows a zero-tolerance policy towards examination irregularities. “The hard work, trust and future of students are paramount to us. The investigation will ascertain where the question paper originated, who circulated it and who else was involved. No one found guilty will be spared,” he said.

The examination was held on August 20, with around 1,200 students from 27 agricultural colleges across the state. Following a complaint that the question paper had circulated on social media before the examination, the university cancelled the examination, which will now be rescheduled for the first week of September.

The inquiry committee will compare the circulated paper with the original question paper and investigate its source, channels of circulation, and the extent of circulation, along with digital evidence gathered by the police and Cyber Cell.

The Chief Minister directed officials to ensure a thorough investigation and fix responsibility wherever irregularities are established. He also instructed the university to comprehensively review and strengthen the confidentiality and security of question papers, covering their preparation, storage, transportation and protection until the examination begins, to prevent such incidents in future.
