Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on Saturday transferred over Rs 20,000 crore directly into the accounts of more than 9.40 crore farmers across the country, marking the 18th installment of the 'Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi' scheme. The event, held in Washim district, Maharashtra, was virtually attended by Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai from the Science College Ground in Raipur. Shri Sai expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister for transferring over Rs 566.77 crore to the accounts of more than 24.98 lakh farmers in Chhattisgarh as part of the 18th installment. He extended his congratulations and best wishes to the farmers of the state.

"This time, 66,485 more farmers have benefited from the scheme compared to the previous 17th installment of the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi. Prior to this, the 17th installment had already seen an increase of 1,11,518 farmers compared to the 16th installment. The growing number of farmers benefiting from the scheme is clear evidence of the rapid progress in India's agriculture sector. It also reflects the strong trust that farmers have in the Modi government. Among the farmers in Chhattisgarh who benefited today, 2,49,867 are forest lease holders, and 30,408 are receiving benefits under the PVTG scheme. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the progress of farmers in the country truly embodies the slogan ‘Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan’", Chief Minister said.

Present at the event were Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh, Agriculture Minister Shri Ramvichar Netam, Commerce and Industries Minister Shri Lakhan Lal Dewangan, Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Shri Tank Ram Verma, MP Shri Brijmohan Agrawal, along with MLAs Shri Motilal Sahu, Shri Purandar Mishra, Shri Ishwar Sahu, Shri Guru Khuswant Saheb, and Dr. Rampratap.
