Delhi: During the G-20 Summit on September 10, Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau had expressed concern over the "anti-India activities" of extremist elements there. Just 6 days later, Canada signed a free trade deal with India. The talks regarding this have been postponed.

According to Aljazeera's report, a spokesperson for Canada's Trade Ministry has confirmed this. However, no reason was given for this. India has so far held at least 6 rounds of talks with Canada regarding the Free Trade Agreement.

An Indian official said on Friday that discussions related to trade between the two countries will take place only when other issues are resolved. He said- Some such political activities were taking place in Canada. To which India had objected. Until their solution is found. Till then, talks regarding trade agreement with Canada have been stopped. Discussions are going on for a 10-year free trade agreement with Canada. Talks related to this were launched again in 2022.

Trudeau criticized in Canada after G-20

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who came to India for the G-20 summit, was stuck in Delhi for 2 days. Earlier, PM Modi had met him only informally. PM Modi had demanded Trudeau to take strict action against Khalistanis. At the same time, after the meeting, on the issue of Khalistan, Trudeau had said - In the last few years, I have talked to PM Modi on this issue. We always support freedom of expression. Peaceful demonstration is everyone's right. Trudeau had said- Along with this, we oppose violence and will remove any kind of hatred. It should be kept in mind that the actions of a few do not reflect the views of Canada as a whole. We respect the law.

Canadian opposition parties also criticized Trudeau for this. In fact, Trudeau appeared isolated during the entire G20 summit. He also did not attend the dinner program of the G-20 summit given by President Murmu.

Then on the evening of 10 September, when he was about to leave for India, his plane broke down. On this, India had offered him the service of its IAF One plane but Canada refused. Trudeau's plane was repaired after 36 hours and he was able to return to his country.

The aircraft used by Trudeau is 36 years old. There have been technical problems in this before also. In October 2016, Trudeau's aircraft took off for Belgium but had to return midway due to a technical glitch. In 2019, when Trudeau went to Europe to attend the NATO summit, his aircraft had a technical fault.
