World Tribal Day: Forest Department will distribute an amount of Rs. 500 crore to tendupatta collectors

Chhattisgarh's Forest Department will distribute Rs 472.31 crore on World Tribal Day, August 9. Tendupatta collectors will receive over Rs 424 crore as incentive remuneration, while Forest Management Committees will receive Rs 44 crore as dividends during the event.

Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has taken significant steps to increase the remuneration for tendupatta collectors in the state, showing his commitment to their welfare. In addition to the increased remuneration from Rs. 2,500 (in 2018) to Rs. 4,000 per standard bag in 2019, the government has also launched various schemes, including social and group security insurance, for the benefit of these collectors. The state government will also distribute the bonus to the tendupatta collectors. Preparations are in full swing under the guidance of Forest Minister Mr. Mohammad Akbar and under the supervision of Principal Secretary of Forest Mr. Manoj Pingua for the systematic distribution of incentive remuneration and dividends on World Tribal Day. The Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Shri V. Srinivasa Rao, has given the necessary instructions to all Chief Conservators of Forests and Divisional Forest Officers to ensure smooth implementation of the program in the district headquarters across the state.

On World Tribal Day, the state government will distribute an amount of Rs. 424.11 crore as incentive remuneration to tendupatta collectors. For the year 2021, Rs. 163.62 crore will be distributed among 9,49,944 collectors from 733 committees. Additionally, for the year 2022, Rs. 260.49 crore will be distributed among 8,61,772 collectors from 661 committees. The Managing Director of Chhattisgarh State Minor Forest Produce Cooperative Federation, Mr. Anil Kumar Rai, provided this information. It is noteworthy that the Chhattisgarh Government distributes the profits to the Tendupatta collectors, promoting their well-being.
