NEW DELHI: Rahul Gandhi arrived in Parliament on Monday, hours after the Lok Sabha Secretariat approved his return to the lower house as a member on Monday. He paid tribute to the statue of Gandhi before attending the hearing in the Lok Sabha, which is scheduled to begin at 12 noon. Last week, the Supreme Court upheld the conviction in the criminal defamation case. Congress wants Rahul to participate in discussions on no-confidence motion in Lok Sabha starting tomorrow.

The Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha adjourned Monday amidst commotion and chants. The Lok Sabha is adjourned until 2pm and the Rajya sabha is adjourned until 2pm. While BJP lawmakers have called for a discussion on violence against women in Congress-ruled Rajasthan, opposition parties have called for a discussion on ongoing violence in Manipur.
Days after the Delhi services bill was passed in the Lok Sabha, Union Home Minster Amit Shah is set to move the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (Amendment) Bill, 2023 in Rajya Sabha on Monday. It is expected to have a smooth sailing in the upper house too, given the support received by the ruling party from Naveen Patnaik’s Biju Janata Dal and Andhra Pradesh’s Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP).
