West Indies beat India by 4 runs in T20 match

Delhi: The first match of the five-match T20 series being played between West Indies and India was played at the Brian Lara Stadium in Trinidad. In this exciting match, West Indies did not allow India to score 150 runs with the help of the component bowling of all-rounder Jason Holder and defeated them by 4 runs. With this win, the hosts have taken a 1-0 lead in the series. Batting first after winning the toss, West Indies captain Rovman Powell scored just 149 runs losing five wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. While playing the captaincy innings for the West Indies, Powell scored the highest 48 off 32 balls. Apart from him, wicket-keeper batsman Nicholas Pooran played an inning of 41 runs off 34 balls. For India, Yuzvendra Chahal took two wickets for 24 runs in three overs.

In response, the Indian team could only score 145 runs in 20 overs losing 9 wickets. Tilak Verma, who made his debut in this match for India, scored the highest innings of 39 runs off 22 balls. Apart from him, no other batsman could do anything special. For the West Indies, Jason Holder took 2 wickets for 19 runs in four overs. During this he also bowled a maiden over. Chasing the target, India got off to a very poor start. Both his openers returned to the pavilion on a score of just 28. Shubman Gill's bat did not work in this match. He was dismissed after scoring three runs off nine balls. He was dismissed by Akil Hussain on the second ball of the third over. In an attempt to send Akeel's ball outside the boundary, Shubman Gill was stumped by wicketkeeper Johnson Charles.

India got another blow in the fifth over. Obed McCoy dismissed Ishaan Kishan on the fifth ball. Kishan was caught by Rovman Powell after scoring six runs off nine balls. India got the third blow in the form of Suryakumar Yadav. He got out after scoring 21 runs off 21 balls. He was caught by Shimron Hetmyer off the bowling of Jason Holder. The fourth blow to the Indian team came in the form of Tilak Verma. Tilak was dismissed by Romario Shepherd on the last ball of the 11th over. His catch was taken by Hetmyer. Tilak scored 39 runs off 22 balls. After this Hardik Pandya got out after scoring 19 runs in 19 balls. Jason Holder clean bowled him.

After this wicket all the expectations were from Sanju Samson. But due to the accurate throw by Kyle Meyers, he was run out and the match slipped out of India's hands. Sanju Samson was run out after scoring 12 runs in 12 balls. Obed McCoy gave the seventh blow to India. He also broke India's remaining hope by dismissing Akshar Patel. Akshar was dismissed after scoring 13 runs off 11 balls. After this, Arshdeep Singh tried his best to take the team past the target but in the end India lost by four runs. Apart from Jason Holder, Obed McCoy and Romario Shepherd also took two wickets each. Whereas Akil Hussain got a wicket.
