Mumbai: Shiv Sena legislators are jittery over reports that National Congress Party's Ajit Pawar has joined the Maharashtra government, even as the party on Wednesday dismissed reports that Chief Minister Eknath Shinde will resign soon. Maharashtra BJP President Chandrashekhar Bawankule also said that Eknath Shinde would continue as Chief Minister.
Maharashtra minister and Shiv Sena leader Uday Samant said there was no resentment among legislators over Pawar's appointment as deputy CM.
Uday Samant told reporters after a meeting of MLAs called by Sinde that all future elections would be held under the leadership of Eknat Sinde.
ANI quoted Samant as saying, 'Upcoming Lok Sabha session, Maharashtra Assembly session under the leadership of CM Eknath Shinde, what MLAs, MPs, MLCs should do in future, how development work should be done,' on how to grow the organization is discussed.
Sawant said, "There was no resentment anywhere (over Ajit Pawar's arrival) among our MLAs and we all have faith in Eknath Sinde...The information about his (Eknath Sinde) resignation is a rumour....All elections are for Eknath." Will be in the lead.
Shiv Sena's core committee under the leadership of Eknath Shinde held a meeting on Tuesday to discuss the political situation in Maharashtra.
