Raipur    The dismissed assistant teachers have once again started their protest at Mana Ke Tuta Dharna Sthal. This protest includes female assistant teachers along with their children and family members. The teachers have demanded adjustment and warned the government that if their demand is not met, then this protest will continue indefinitely. The protesters have also announced that they will celebrate Holi festival at this protest site.

Earlier, on Saturday, March 8, on Women's Day, female assistant teachers had tried to reach their demands to the government by taking out a rally in Bhilai.

Reason for dismissal and court decision
Bilaspur High Court had said in its decision on December 10 that only D.Ed degree holders would be eligible for the post of assistant teachers. Due to this, the appointment of B.Ed degree holders assistant teachers was canceled. Due to this decision, a total of 2,897 teachers were fired from the job. Assistant teachers are continuously protesting against the loss of job and demanding adjustment from the government.

In view of the protest, the government had formed a committee, but till now no decision has come from the committee in this matter.

Protests are continuing Continuously
Under this movement that is going on since December, the teachers have tried to convey their demands to the government through several ways like Jal Satyagraha, mass fasting, mass tonsure, Yagya-Havan, and Dandavat demonstration. On 7 March, teachers protested by carrying posters and placards in front of the VIP movement and the convoy of ministers on Vidhansabha Road.

Main demands of assistant teachers

Service security and adjustment - The services of all the dismissed assistant teachers should be reinstated.
Permanent solution - The government should soon make a concrete policy to secure the future of teachers.

Protection of Constitutional Rights – It is unjust to deprive teachers of employment, this should be rectified immediately.

No concrete assurance has been received from the government so far, due to which the protesters are angry. The movement is likely to intensify in the coming days.
