After brilliant bowling by Mohammed Shami (five wickets) and Harshit Rana (three wickets), Shubman Gill (101 not out) scored a century, KL Rahul (41 not out) and Rohit Sharma (41) helped India beat Bangladesh by six wickets with 21 balls to spare in the second match of the Champions Trophy on Thursday.
India's opening pair of captain Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill started off well and added 69 runs for the first wicket in reply to Bangladesh's 228 runs. Taskin Ahmed gave Bangladesh its first success by dismissing Rohit Sharma in the 10th over. Rohit Sharma scored (41) runs in 36 balls with the help of seven fours. Virat Kohli (22), Shreyas Iyer (15) and Axar Patel (eight) were dismissed after scoring runs.
After this, KL Rahul came to bat and took over the innings from Shubman Gill. Shubman Gill played an innings of 101 runs in 129 balls with the help of nine fours and two sixes. KL Rahul scored 41 runs in 47 balls with one four and two sixes. KL Rahul gave India victory by hitting a six off Tanjim Hasan Sakib's ball. India won the match by six wickets by scoring 231 runs for four wickets in 46.3 overs.
For Bangladesh, Rishad Hussain took two wickets. Taskin Ahmed and Mustafizur Rahman dismissed one batsman each.
