WASHINGTON: The United States has ordered the partial evacuation of its embassy in Niger following last week's coup.
Hundreds of foreign have been evacuated from the country, and the French embassy was attacked by demonstrators on Sunday.
General Abdourahamane Tchiani, the leader of the coup, warned against "any act of interference in the internal affairs of the country".
Niger is a major uranium producer and lies on a migration route to North Africa and the Mediterranean.
